Dipstick Relocation Issues

Hello Yotatech!
Thanks for all the awesome 3.4 swap information. I tried to search for this and haven't had any luck, so please be gentle

My 3.4 block has the plug installed in the location I want to relocate my dipstick to, and I am having issues driving it out. to the best of my knowledge this is the way I should go about it? I spun it with vise grips in an attempt to break it free and then drive it up and out. I generally would never do this, but hopefully the plug will be disposable when it comes out from the underside. It spun but still wouldn't budge.

What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance!

ahhh, a new low. Replying to my own thread.

Any reason why I shouldn't use heat? As long as I don't go overboard I'm guessing a little input from the propane torch won't get the block much hotter than it would under normal operating temperatures?

Cheers

I used a 1/4" socket extension from underneath, I removed the oil pan then drove it out from the bottom.

Thanks, SacRunner!

Other than using a metal punch instead of a 1/4" extension(which I then tried) this was the approach I was taking. After a number of bench punches I decided to drill through the center of the plug in an attempt to weaken it. Then I realized I could just drill a 3/8 hole from the underside and it would function the same as what I was trying to replace it with aside from the imperial hole being slightly smaller.

Hole drilled
Baffle and pick up installed
3.0 oil pan sealed and torqued

On to the next Problem! thanks again for the reply.
