completely lost

Hey y'all, I'm almost done with my swap and am at a loss. I have purchases the tis already and downloaded my ewd for my 1989 pick-up but it has absolutely no pinouts for my c2 plug. I have messaged around trying to find but no responses yet. I can read the diagrams, they're just not there. If anybody has the pinouts by chance and could send them. Also, what can be used for a jumper harness? And where can pin connectors be purchased. There seven bucks a pop from Toyota.....

It will not show you just the plug and the pinouts. You have to look at each and every system and it will show you if it runs through that plug or not. Keep reading the 3.4 swap section.

Ive looked thru all the downloadable pdf from my 89, wasnt able to find any that went thru that plug. I dont have an overall ewd for it tho. i feel like that is what is going to be the winner

your 2 body plugs will either have ecu power stuff... or gauges. You need to look again, at the ecu ewd, and instrument cluster ewd

If you have in PDF form, you can ctrl+f and "find" c2. The overall EWD will be your best bet, I almost exclusively used that to wire my swap.

I guess I am old fashioned I like the paper copies of the EWD`s and buy every one I see at a reasonable price.

So, just as a bit of a sanity check (you know to make sure you're actually looking for the right thing):
  1. You have the correct EWD for your 89 pick-up; not one that's "close enough" but for your truck specifically?
  2. How do you know you're looking for connector "C2"? Toyota renamed connectors ALL THE TIME from one application to another; for instance the 2 body connectors on my 91 4Runner were IH1 and IH2 where other application were named C1 and C2.

What you really should be doing is going through your EWD and finding the connections between the body harness and the ECU and engine harness, write down the connector name, the pin number, and the apparent function (and possibly a description of where/what devices the wire is connected to on both ends).

I hate to say it, but if you're looking for something that you saw in another build (connector named "C2") but can't find it in your application, chances are you're looking for the wrong thing.

Thanks a ton, I noticed that has all the auto pins for the dash, but I've also got pins in that spot
