Hi currently in process of swapping the oil pick up and pan from the 3.0 out of my 93 4runner. During all of my reading, I've seen where everyone has cut a hole in the Oil pan baffle from the 3.4L. My question is can the baffle from the 3.0 be used? I put it on and everything appears to line up without having to cut anything. Is there a reason for not using the 3.0 baffle? Just curious, like I said haven't seem anyone use it.

Lots of people have used the 3.0, but I went for the 3.4 baffle because the sandwich mount of the 3.0 just looks destined to leak. The 3.4 one gets everything inside the pan and there is only one seal to leak rather than two.

 

Thanks, dntsdad. I was working on things last night and kinda came to that same conclusion. It makes a lot of sense to just modify the 3.4 baffle to keep everything inside the pan and then there's only one seal between block and pan.
