I happen to have a older 3.4 crossover for sale... in perfect shape... if someone is looking for the flanges and such.

How Much Steve? I assume that will fit fine with my 1997 3.4 in my 2nd Gen...

Now that the weather is much nicer We are ready to begin the surgery. At least I already have the 3.0 pulled and out of the way!

Are those stock flanges with custom pipes and a stock flex joint? Did you buy the pipe and shape it yourself? Thanks

Some of us have had a problem with the crossover wrapping. Apparently it allows the metal to get too hot and causes the pipe to crack. This is probably made much worse by using too much overlap with the wrap and or supercharging the engine. Ceramic coating seems to be a better option.

Pic of my crossover failure, note the flaking of the metal, this was inside too resulting in the pipe thickeness decreasing more and more until a crack developed (or that's my theory anyway) It was very thin where it got too hot, it must have been very close to molten because it scaled over and got flaky like molten steel gets. Some would confuse this for rusting out, but I'm sure it wasn't from rust. I was careful to always run the engine for a while after washing the truck to evaparate any water from the wrap.

Mt. Goat, have you heard of anyone who has had thier xover ceramic coated and having it crack? I had mined ceramic coated but I'm wondering now if I should just try to beef up that joint before I go ahead and put my motor in. This problem seems to be getting more common.

Opinions?

I can't remember anyone having a failure with a ceramic coating. At least make sure you support the crossover with a brace at the bell housing, something like this:

And put a flex coupling after that (before the cat).

I know that heat wrap would damage the pipe and welds, since it would cause mass build-up of heat.

By log do you mean "stock"? If so. Yes it is. You need to buy headers.
