bellhousing help!

it seems that the bellhousing from the 97 V6 auto 4x4 has a different bellhousing to the auto on my 93 4x4 pickup. i was under the impression that bellhousings might be shaped differently but the bolt holes would match.

is there a reason or are they all different just require something to make them work?

example, the bottom bolts on the 97 auto bellhousing seem to bolt from front to back rather then back to front like the 93, so the threads wont work the way they should.
Need HELP ASAP! removing 3.4 tomorrow and need to know before i do this.

starter bolts up differently. On the manual transmissions the clutch slave in on the passenger side. That 3.4 transmission is designed with the idea that the exhuast will be routed on the passenger side. Your 3.0 trans will bolt up to the 3.4 just fine.
