Almost Running

Alright so i have the motor in and everything pretty much hooked up. I also have the vitals wired up, EFI, COR, Ignition, Starter. I have power to the ignitor and all the plugs.

So it will crank over but no start. I tried alittle starting fluid and it fired up for a sec, so maybe not getting fuel but i have fuel coming out of the return line pretty steady.

Does anyone have any ideas on what i am missing?

Also is the fuel pump supposed to come on with the key and stay on? Because i can only hear it turn on when i put the test light in the connector and it bridges or jumps it i really dont know then i will turn on but still no start.

Thanks in advance.

Okay so here is where i am at. The starting fluid did not fully start it just combusted a bit. So i have concluded that i am getting fuel fine. ( i removed the main supply and fuel is coming?

The new problem is no spark. The test light shows no power to the plugs, I also took the plug out and rested it against the block and nothing. Where does the power come from that goes the the coil packs? Would it be a wire in the body harness? other than the B-R IGN wire?

Or does anyone have any other ideas why i am not getting spark? everything is grounded. I read somewhere that it could be the crank not tighten down enough? anyone experienced this? I did do the timing belt so maybe a possibility ?

Thanks for everyone's help

I had a similar problem. For me, there was power to the ignitor, however there's one more splice to be made which also powered air flow, O2 sensors, etc. It was called B+ and was white w/blue if I remember.

Agree with above and also make sure that you have a GOOD ground to the mounting body of the ignitor. I used a small wire wheel on a drill to take up all the paint and then bolted that sucker down tight. If you have any dialectic grease, use that as well.

Thanks GJ and dntsdad. That was definitely it. I hooked up that wire and if fired right up. It will only go for about 5 seconds but i don't have more than half the wires hooked up yet. So that is my task for tomorrow. Thanks again
