99 4Runner Theft Deterrent System, Do I Have It?

I'm a newb to this forum but, not to Toyota's or wheeling. You guys seem to be the authority on 3.4 swaps so I am now a member. I hope I can give back to others as I have taken a lot from this forum already. So here goes...

I have a complete 99 4Runner donor vehicle that I just pulled the wire harness out of. I was going through the EWD's, trying to figure everything out, and was plugging connectors back into the ECM.

I can't find the connector E11 anywhere on any of the harnesses. According to the EWD it is for the Theft Deterrent System.

I don't know what the transponder key amplifier looks like to even find it. I have the whole truck so if I have it, it should be here. The key doesn't look like a chipped key, it just has the clicker to unlock doors.

Would Toyota just leave an empty hole on the ECM if it doesn't have the system?

The dash is pretty much stripped and the harnesses are laying next to the engine. I have nothing to plug into that port on the ECM.

The socket in the ECM is clean, no dust or anything so I was thinking I am missing something. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Finally managed to load some pics. You can see the open port on the ECM and my harness laying on the floor.

I know I know ...........search. I did and I'm guessing I don't have it. Still thought it was weird with nothing in that socket of the ECM.

Is this normal? I can't find anything on the harness that would plug in there. I drove the truck so I know it ran. Just worried that I'm missing something.

From the searching I did, I saw that only the Limited Models came with Immobilizer. The other hole is just left open. Your ECU should clearly be marked "limited" if it is. Otherwise, it's just "normal" ecu.

Your attached pics are too small for me to rear the markings. If it had immobilizer plug, you would have found it.

Worst case, if you get it wired up, and it did have immobilizer, just swap out the ECU for same year/ SR5. The locations and functions should be the same.

Thank you sir! I just needed to know if it was normal to have it left open. I tried unsucessfully to load larger pics.

ECM tag has 5VZ, M/T, 4X4. Part #89661-3D560 Nothing saying Limited

Manual transmissions never had the immobilizer system. Only the Limited 99+ had that system (the chipped key setup). And since the Limited never came with a manual trans...you have your answer

Thank you for the replies, this forum rocks! I don't know why I didn't join sooner. No flaming the newb like some other site.

What was throwing me is the lack of crud I thought would have collected in the open socket. I was thinking there had to have been something in there. Pretty dusty here in Arizona.
