tach mod for 1985 22re?
I tried searching but all I could find is wiring the 10k resistor mod, and the tach I have does not look like what is pictured. My cluster has a blue plastic backing. So with that said, I was wondering if anyone has been successful with getting the tach to work with a 3.4 swap in a 1985 22re?
I found a link with a tach mod that says to solder a 5k potentiometer to the tach, but that was for a chevy v6 swap. I tried it, and it didn't work. Im hoping there is a solution because I don't want to run something aftermarket. My interior is all original and in awesome shape, and I think something aftermarket would take away from it.
Please help, thanks

got it figured out and now my tach is working properly. although our tachs (1985 sr5) is different, there is still a requirement of soldering in a resistor. after doing so, my tach came alive, but it wasnt reading properly. I messed with the little white potienometer (spelling) and still couldn't get it to read properly. So i ordered a tach adapter from digital dakota and installed that. tach is reading perfect now.
