94 4x4 with electronic speedo - HELP
ok .. so ran into a road block/issue with brads build .
His /94 is actually a USA vehicle . it has an electronic speedo .
3.4L swap engine is a /97 tacoma engine , which has a cable speedo .
from what I see and have tried (no luck so far) looks like I have to convert to a cable driven speedo
all help appreciated

I am not sure that I follow you exactly, but couldn't you replace the cable sensor with a Marlin speed sensor?

I used this on my setup and it worked perfectly. Grabbed the VSS wires in the kickpanel and attached them to the sensor.
Details are in my thread but reply back if you need something more, or if I am not understanding the issue correctly.

ok .. so this should be a no brainer ..
I think I have it figured , but , dont think I can make it work .
My VSS is a 22re /94 , and I dont think they are compatable , or have the same signal pattern as the 3.0 or 3.4 VSS ? any one know for sure ?
Truck came with the electric speedo , but it is a 22re , so all the wires are there .
I have also been checking with toyota , seems ALL 94's were electric , and no Cables . Dash wiring is also different between the 3.0 and the 22re , so I dont even think I can put in a cable speedo

Im freaking lost. Sorry. My reading comprehension must be on strike this week.
Ok so you have a 94 22re truck and you are swapping a 97 Taco motor into it?
Your stock cluster is elec speedo so your stock trans was elec sender. Right so far?
What trans/transfer case are you using now?
Why cant the elec sender that you have go into the transfer case and then just match up the wires that were there and being used?
As far as the signal pattern, i am not sure if they are the same but it seems like I read somewhere many moons ago that ALL Toyota signal patterns were the same except a few oddball ones like for some Lexus model or something. I dont think that it would hurt anything to try it and see. God know i wired mine wrong 50 times before i got it going and it never fried anything. Not 100% sure though obviously to beware i guess.

ok .. so fixed !
as mentioned , there are only 3 wires to 1 connector ,depending on your vehicle , this connector was C1 .
22re and 3.0L VSS signals ARE the same , 4 wave . so after testing to the book spec , the 3.0 L passed electrically , but mechanically it failed .
simple test was just plug it in (off the vehicle) and turn the gear by hand , speedo will bounce if it's working .
so with a new 3.0L VSS , tested and now installed , all works
