3 wire to 4 wire TPS swap
Getting ready to start my 3.4 swap. The TPS on my new engine has 3 wires, the plug on my harness has 4 wires.
The question is do I have to swap the throttle body, or can I just swap the TPS.

I see what you are talking about. I have a similar situation. I am using two different T100 wiring diagrams for my donor, a 1995 and 1997. The '95 has the four wire and the '97 has three. The missing wire is the IDL according to the diagrams. Looks like a vapor pressure sensor was added for latter models and is located in the fuel tank. I don't quite understand the relationship currently except the sensor VC pin is connected to the wire #2 on the TPS which connects to VCC on the ECM. I have the 3 wire harness and TPS but my ECM has the IDL pin. Thanks for pointing this out, now I'm confused!

Thats what I am wondering about. Can I just swap the TPS or do I swap out the whole throttle body. The only difference I can find between the throttle bodys so far is the TPS. I took out my 3 wire TPS to see what there was to it, not much, just a tab that follows the throttle plate.

I got a 4 wire TPS today and tried to install it on the throttle body, dont fit right.
So no is the answer to my first question.
Does any body have a 4 wire TPS throttle body for sale, or trade for my 97 4runner throttle body?
