3.4 Swap Shop

Found this interesting little gem of an ad while I was looking for stuff. Thought it might be good info for some:

If the quality of the swap is as good as the ad I think I would stick to doing it myself.

I called and talked to CLIFF there and he say's he can do wiring harness's for the swap and will be sending me more info in the morning plus he can do a 22re to the 2.7 harness for me if I do the swap both plug and play too.

I will let everyone see the info when he sends it to via e-mail tomorrow and price list's for the harness's if anyone is interested.

Ha ha, I was kinda thinkin the same thing Neo. I guess part of why I went with ORS.
Hey, they gotta start somewhere. I'll be able to give y'all a review of their exhaust crossover soon, if I can borrow my roomie's car to drive down and pick it up tomorrow.

They quoted me $150 and they have a set there they can fix so I just have to take mine to 'em as a core.
The guy I talked to sounds fairly up to speed on the 3.4's.

Well hopefully they have better fab skills than english skills. It would be good to have another source for swap parts. Post up a few pics of the crossover when you receive it.

Well, it's actually a guy workin out of his garage, so I don't know what kind of volume he could handle. He told me not to hesitate to call him if I had any problems troubleshooting my backup light problem. Seems like he knows his stuff to me. Here's a look at the crossover he modded for me:

Looks very nice. He called me up while you where there (I think it was you he said it was of the people from the yota site) and explained to me that his camera was having issue but he would send me pics later.

He then told me the guy doing the wiring is very good he had just taken a harness from a 07 taco and wired up a buggie with it and everything worked perfect first time so looking at what you got from him and his willingness to call from from Oregon to here in Maryland and explain what was going on was pretty cool to me , so I will most likely use him for my harness he said no more then $500 and at the low end $350 just matters how much the wiring guy has to do sounds fair to me.

He also told me this is a side job thing for him and his guy's that his day job is running a wrecking yard in the area so he has access to lots of yota parts reasonable but for me shipping will kill most any good deals but you left coast guy's may have yet another place to get good prices for parts may be worth your checking him out. Just sayin

I can add my experience, though it was only with their crossover pipe.
The fit was a little rough, but then again I was also doing it in the wrong order, so to speak(crossovers should be installed before the engine goes in, unlike the Downey headers). However, after I got the order of bolt tightening down so that they could all be tightened evenly, it was installed, I re-used the downpipe and cat from the 3.4 all the way back to the second O2 sensor. The exhaust shop had to bend that up some so it didn't rest on the tranny crossmember, but it all fits great now. No leaks and that was with roughly 15 hours of driving over 2 days on my way down here to Cali.

I think if I couldn't do it myself, they'd be good guys to go through. Hope that sheds some light on the situation cheez.

that really helped johnny! I have only talked to cliff through email and they say it would be around $3,000 on engines with 100k on them. That seems like a really good deal, almost too good to be true. As far as the 3.4 installed...
Would the 2 inch OME suspension lift do the same thing as a 2 inch body lift for the install? I really want to upgrade suspension but if it does nothing to get the engine installed i might have to re-evaluate what i should spend my money on.

The body lift is to raise the body to clear the intake. A suspension lift isn't going to help with that.

old thread, but the same people now have a website.

www.toyonlyswaps.com

again, anybody in the eugene area have done this with them? their cost went up to 3,500 not including hooking up cruise control, AC... etc.

is it a good deal? sounds like it could easily be around $4000 complete.
