3.4 swap occasional no crank no start

Good morning all.

So I've fighting this issue for a few months now. 3.4 swap completed a year ago, about 10k on the car since swap.

Sometimes usually when the engine is hot but occasionally first thing in the morning it will no crank no fire. Sometimes I can leave the truck in gear and rock it back and forth and try again and it will fire, other times it just won't.

Both battery and starter are new within the last 2 months.

When turning the key I can hear/feel the COR and starter relays click. So I assume the starter signal wire isn't getting the juice it needs for some reason, but I'm getting super annoyed with this thing

Oh, so forgot info, its an 1990 4runner, early build (manufactured Aug 89) originally a 3.0 w/ 5 speed manual, swapped engine was a 98 Tacoma 3.4 manual with its factory ecu.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m running into the same issue for some time now.
