3.4 Swap Issues

Alright guys, its me again ha. I am sure you guys are getting sick of hearing my problems but i have one more that i am stumped on.

When i punch the gas the motor will bog down pretty bad and wont get over 3000 grand. If i slowly accelerate it will be fine. It also seems to be running real rich. Black puffs of smoke out of the exhaust. Seems almost like the motor is choking on to much fuel. After it warms up it runs a bit better. It will also die on first start up unless pumping the gas.

I have cleaned the MAF, and the timing is fine. It also did the same problem before the exhaust was on so i dont think it is a clogged CAT. Also replaced fuel filter and ran new gas.

Any ideas?

Could it be a wire that i did not wire up right? Like a wire that controls the sensors? I would not be suprised if it is a wire?

Maybe a ground? I have all the motor and body grounds. What about a computer ground?

I also noticed my diagnostics plug under the hood has no power? Maybe same wire?

If anyone has any ideas or something i could try that would help bunch.

Thank you everybody.

The W-R wire that goes to through the body harness. It goes to most of the sensors.

Glad you got it.

I am surprised that it would run at all with that wire undone as it powers most of the system and I thought the fuel injectors off the top of my head.

Interesting and good to know. Thanks

Here is a little more detail. There is an W-R wire coming off the computer(E5 plug) that goes to +B, from there it branches off, going numerous place including, to Ik2. On the 91 it has the same thing. At first i had the W-R wire from that E5 plug wired to the IH1 body harness. It ran but had the problems. I noticed i did not have any constant power to the diagnostics (+B pin) So then i figured my problem had something to do with that wire.

So then i unhooked the W-R wire from the computer. In it's place i wired Both the body harness wires. IK2 W-R to IH1 W-R. Now everything works fine.

I dont have the wire from the computer to anything but everything seems to be working. So i dont know. I also have constant power to the diagnostic plug.

Maybe this can help someone else out in the future.

Anybody see a problem with not having that W-R from the computer wired up?
