3.4 swap into a 95 4runner - Question

I plan on running my 3.0 for a while, but I am keeping my eyes open for a donor vehicle with the 3.4 to do a swap. my question is, will a 93 T-100 engine auto tranny and t-case bolt in? I have heard that 93 and 94 T-100 trucks still had the front driveshaft on the passenger side. I have almost completed my SAS and it already had a 1 inch body lift so I am also wondering if it is likely to fit under the hood.

Any suggestions? And, no I don't want to do away with the automatic in favor of a stick. I do a lot of hunting on trails in Alaska and I don't want to be busy and my hands full when driving.

Yes. Will make for an easy auto swap. That's what I would do if I did it again. I believe there is a sticky thread on which oil pan to use for your SAS. You should be able to find it.

Just a heads up, the T100 had a 3.0 until 95 or 96 (I think), so a 93 T100 would not have a 3.4; you would need a 95-98 T100.

I misread his post the first time too. He's asking about the transmission, which would fit from a 93-94 with a 3.0

Edit: Oops now I understand. It would be silly to buy a 93 for a doner because it will have a 3.0 in it like SacRunner said. You can use a t100 trans if you have one but you'd need a 3.4 from something else. But don't do that- buy the full doner. 95.5 and up t100 had the 3.4 and passenger drop case.

I thought somewhere in there they changed to a driver side drop, I forgot about the 3.0 being in the early ones, thanks for the heads up.

can anyone verify what years might have the 3.4 and passenger side front driveshaft?

All the t100s, whether 3.0 or 3.4 had a passenger drop tcase.

I might not get started for quite a while yet, but I just picked up a 96 T100 with a knocking engine, but a spare 3.4 in the bed for $900. SCORE! can anyone tell me if I'll have to modify the crossover and manifolds to get this in my 95 4runner or is it still close enough to the block to fit the narrower frame?
