3.0 to 3.4 prerunner swap
#24
So here are the pics.
I had to cut my old intake mount off the shock hoop.

Here it is sitting in there.

View from the top.

Looks like I need to nod my engine hoop ha ha.

I have heard of people not using the 3.0 factory power steering line but mine bolted up just fine with the 3.0 bolt.

My dipstick as viewed from the wheelwell. I had to use the 3.4 dipstick because for some reason the 3.0 would get stuck no matter how I bent it. The 3.4 dipstick is a little shorter so not my low line is my full and the end of it is my low line.

Not sure what the hell this thing is but it does'nt seem to go anywhere and I had to clearance my 3.0 mounts to fit around it.
.
Will be doing some fuel line stuff, exhuast stuff, radiator mounts, and if Im lucky some wiring today.

NICE!
Don't forget the afm or maf, what ever the 3.4 uses.
Also that fitting on the block that you had to notch the motor mount. I did the same thing and i was told its a coolant drain plug?
or soemthing of the like. don't worry nothing gets attached to it.

Drain plug eh? That makes sense.

Nice truck and build. You have been making good time with the swap. Nice bumper, much better then the one that came with it. What are your plans for the new dash? Going all metal inside?
#32
No most likely just keeing the dash the way it is. I want to redo the cab cage in the next year or so and I dont wanna put too much time into it. If I feel bored I will do some fiberglass though.

that looks BEAUTIFUL , I am looking to do that swap on my 93 4runner , if you know where i can get a good deal on the motor and other parts needed , let me know , i will part with my 140k mile 3.0 also , if anyone wants it.... nice job on the swap bro , I hope you have fun with it

Thats exactly what mine was missing too. I got mine for 700. I've just been thinking of using either a 98 computer on my 97 auto engine as it has the same connections, or else just unplugging the ecl for inspections. any input?
