So I finally got the 3.4 to run today. I have a few wiring issues to balance out. I can get on to buttoning up the exhaust. Coolant lines ,power steering, bleed the clutch and away we go.

It was a big week for the yota. The exhaust is finalized and routed. The motor finally runs starts and stops as it should. We finished mounting the battery in a newly made tray. The airbox will still need some work I haven't decided how to go about that yet. The hood seems to clear everything and shut nicely so no cutting there. I had a lot of wiring issues that were unforseen it was almost easier to get it close and then do the final stuff in the 4runner it was just easier to test out. Today I will get the wiring hung and strung and wrapped for final install, finish welding the exhaust and install a new to me used brush gaurd for some flare.

I got this period correct grill and chrome bumper at the pick a part last week. I had a crappy black one with the small yota logo from a tacoma on there for a while I like this new one better. Lucky me only one 4runner in the yard and it was a 1990 like mine with perfect grill. I am still looking at options for the airbox I made that shield/bracket to hold the MAF and air cleaner but not sure I am blocking enough debri with it. You can see where I used a 10mm compression fitting to link the two different power steering lines together. My brother salvaged the T100 logo from my donor just before it went to the scrap yard seems to fit well up there on the tailgate.

3.4 swap wiring

Man I've been searching and finally found 2 people in the same thread that made there own harness! Unfortunately there old posts but all I can do is ask. I have a 1992 sr5 4runner with 1997 t100 4x4 donor. What wiring besides the engine harness, and neutral safety switch do i need from the t100?

you will want the entire t100 harness you will need to change/repin the body connectors over from your 92 onto the t100 harness. there are a lot of threads on this subject here. i got a ton of advice from the folks on this forum and some cheat sheets.Did you check the threads i mentioned in my build thread? I am pretty sure that you will want to do automatic to automatic or manual to manual. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. have you started a build thread here? I got a ton of help as soon as I started mine. check themonch's pdf of connector and wiring theory here it was very helpful and you will want the electrical wiring diagrams(EWDs) for both trucks. I do not remember the toyota website but lots of these build threads mention it it is a pay site but you can download the ewds for both. good luck and start a thread and get some pics up

Hey how's it going, good job on the swap man! I have a quick question, where does the WL maf/IAC/water temp/ 02 sensors wire go? Mine is dangling, if I hook it up to the WL (98) WR(92) wires that I had spliced for COR it gets rid of the codes but it runr like crap! Could you pm me as I have a couple questions haha! Thanks!!

So the MAF and iac and all of the other sensors are all linked by one wire, a WL wire, it goes to +b on the ecm, I cut that wire to splice it into the WR wire on the 92 body harness, it idles good this way but you can only rev it slowly and the cel for the MAF and IAC is on, if I splice the WL wire back in it clears the codes but runs like garbage with small spurts of running and revving perfect. I have no idea what's going on
