Intro - new2me, low mileage/1 owner 2000 T4R SR5, v6-4x4
Dad & Doberman Kelly's new toy - hoping to be part of this fine community & active in this great forum.
- this ones a keeper
Just purchased a one owner 2000 Toyota 4Runner, SR5, 4x4, with low mileage (129,586 Canadian Km).
- rust free sheet metal / maintained at Lexus-Toyota dealer
In 16 year old pristine condition - a rare sight, in the Canadian rust belts / that use rock salt & chemicals, on winter roads.
- my garage owner/dealer friend, bought this vehicle specifically for me in mind
- just DuraShield undercoated T4R, with a Fluid Film/wax-oil type spray undercoating / to combat winter rust issues
Original paint (condition 9.5 out of 10) - full truck frame / decent 5,300 lb tow capacity, was one of the buying attractions (among many).
- probably get a used ~22 ft tandem axle trailer, for a few long hauls, (vacation trips) / down the road
Nice Chrome/Steel bumpers & PRW (power rear window) - Kelly can stick her nose, out the back window.
True 4x4 - with part time High & Low range / no E-locker.
3.4L, v6, auto with 80,520 original miles = 129,586 Canadian Km.
Loaded, but no moonroof...
My garage-used car lot buddy, knew I was half-ass searching for a 2008-10 Toyota FJ, a few years ago...couldn't get over the blind spot, though.
So I ended up finding & buying a mint RAV4 for the wife, from a doctor.
- this T4R was bought, with me in mind / dealer friend, was keeping it for himself, if I didn't take it
- he bought a new 4Runner Limited, in 2000 / cost him $45,000 CDN (tax included), out the door...one of his favorite vehicles.
So this time, luckily I fell into the deal...it pays to have good friends !!
All door seams & frame rails - free of corrosion issues / 16" BFG tires, only have a couple months of limited run time.
Been driving over 45 years / 6 months ago, bought our 1st Toyota - 2008 RAV4 Limited v6, 4x4 with 89,x00 Km (55,x00 miles).
- and this is our girl Kelly
Never had a black vehicle before - now we have two here & our son, also choose black / 2015 Lexus RX350, the two of us, negotiated a rather sweet deal.
Muscle cars (A-bodies) are another passion of mine - the red 1967 Beaumont Sport Deluxe, 396-350HP, M21, 411-12 bolt is the extremely rare one.
Cheers, Larry (S/W Ontario, Canada)

Thks guys - I tracked down the original owner (2 nights ago), from the Niagara Falls, ON area.
- I went to government Licence office, and paid $20 for the sellers package
- then googled 411.ca for an address & phone number, of owner
- phoned him & left a message / latter the senior gentleman, returned my call
Had a nice chat with him, for about a 1/2 hour.
- he already misses his old SUV, always felt right when driving
- his 4Runner, always garaged and used sparingly
- rare time he drove in the winter time / he run it through a touchless car wash, so the road salt was rinsed off the undercarriage & than straight home
- he also had a C-class Mercedes to drive / keeping miles down on both vehicles
Timing belt, water pump & Toyota radiator was replaced 4.5 years ago, at 110,500 Km...averaging 2,600 miles/year, in his last 3rd of vehicle ownership.
- 16" BFG TA's were installed, 2 months before he traded it into the local Lexus/Toyota dealership, on a 2015 Corolla
I was looking for the remote keys, that never came from the dealer-2-dealer auction.
- option was ordered by the original owner and 4x4 didn't come with remote keys, once delivered
- he made the Dealership, put on an aftermarket unit
- but 2 years later, he got locked out of the T4R, and had remote removed
He was very happy to hear - I'm keeping his SUV for another 15 years plus / and it's in good hands again.
