With windows down and idly coasting down local 25mph streets it is definitely noticeable under 1500rpm or so. The stethoscope proves that the ticking if coming through the exhaust manifolds, more so on the driver’s side.

I run Mobil 1 synthetic 15-50 in the summer and 5-40 in the winter. Mine always ticks but I just assume its the reground cams with steeper lobes since everything else is new.

i can hear something in my valvetraine too....I think most relatively inexpensive engine do this. Some more then others.
I think only the owner of the vehicle can hear it. Since they are used to the engine sounds....

Of course having the engine sitting in the open doesn't help either. There are a dozen places to reach in and touch it without opening the hood.

Mine tick louder when I run Mobil 1 synthetic than standard dino oil. I run 5w-30 in both all year long.
