If I try and power all windows (+ back) either up or down, after a short period it seems that there isn't enough power and they almost stop. But then if I just do one or two at a time they are fine. Is this a sign of a low battery? (Its just got imported from Japan last week so is likely to have been sitting for a while)

I have a similar problem...well actually, my back left window won't move at all. But yeah, if you have all of the motors getting power they do slow down...I've never had them actually stop though.

Someone mentioned just a while ago that they had replaced their stock battery with an Optima and all the windows moved quickly even when all 4 were switched at the same time.

Based on this report, I'd have to assume battery too

 

If you have ever reprogrammed a remote for your car you know it takes a WHOLE LOT of lock/unlock, so much that if you don't get it right the first time your battery is so drained you have to drive around and recharge it to continue.

I would imagine that the motors for the power windows, including the back put a hefty drain on the battery when the engine is not running.

Are you trying to raise/lower the windows with the runner running or just with the key in the ignition? Either way, your problem is battery related. Most places that replace batteries these days will check them for free to see if you need a new one and you don't even have to haul it out of your car, they'll come to you, so go get that battery checked out!

When my stock one dies one day I am definitely going with the Optima. I had one in my last truck and it was like the Energizer Bunny, it just kept going and going and going and going...

I'm takin the truck into the shop today, should I have them check out the battery? My windows get sort of slow but not close to stopping quite yet. I guess if they will do it for free I will have them check it out. We'll see...I'm really hoping its not going to take them more than 2 hours to get those coils installed.

I would think its probably more the motors themselves than your battery. Replacing them may or may not help. The window motors in my 99 camaro were super slow, especially when they got near the top. The passenger side one was always slower than the drivers side. It wasn't just my car either. All owners complained of the same symptons. just my $.02
