I bought a new water pump @ checkers with a lifetime warranty but look @ this pic my normal water pump doesn't have this tube out the side any help???

 

I'd take it back and get the correct part rather than trying to fumble with it to make it work.

 

This pic looks like the water pump for my '90 4Rnnr (3VZ) engine (4WD). I would have them doublecheck the part... Good Luck!

 

I'm fairly sure that tube goes to the oil cooler, it looks like the pump that I put on my 93, V6. If you don't have the oil cooler then you should probably get the right part.

 

That water pump is for a 3.0, and that tube goes to an engine oil cooler that Toyota went out of their way to make difficult to access! Just replaced the water pump on my '93, and spent yesterday afternoon under the truck installing a new o-ring between that oil cooler and the block.

 

So far everyone is correct.....that tube is for the funky and almost useless stock oil cooler on the pre 1990 3v engs.....from the information that I have the system used a different line and that tube was done away with.....the frist engines to not have that tube started going in to the factory in april of 1990.....
