Starter replacement

Fellas, my starter is T.U. and while I've had no problems disconnecting the bad starter, I can't get the blasted thing out of the engine bay. The Haynes manual says it may be neccesary to jack it and remove the front left tire. I haven't jacked it yet, but from the looks of it, this isn't going to help me. Does anyone have any experience pulling a starter?

What year rig is it? On the 2nd gens 90-95 you pull an inner fender panel out to give more room. You end up moving some things to the side and working the starter out. it comes out through the fender believe it or not. Heres a bump for you though. See if anyone else will hop in with answers. Also let us know what year your working on. ben
