Unhappy Please help-SHIFTER BOOT ASSEMBLY?

Hello

I have an 89 toyota pickup SR5 regualr cab, witht he 22-RE engine, 5spd. When I purchased the truck the shifter boot and extierior assembly was all torn up. The truck shifts fine, however when I tried to fit it back into place i could not shift into 1st, or reverse, I believe they put on the wrong shifter, boot assembly on the truck. Does anyone know where I can find the entire assembly that will fit my truck? It just looks so busted in my truck because you can see the ground from there the boot should cover the carpet and whatnot. I have tried lookign online but I have only found covers for the lower shifter boots, not the entire plate, bottom rubber, and top shifter boot assembly. I hope this makes sense, I do not know the proper terms for all these parts. Any feed back would be great.

Thank You
Fabien

Sounds like a junkyard item to me.

Try your local body shop and if the owner is a nice guy he may order one for you or tell you where to get one. The local salvage or junk yard would be my next try as mentioned above. Then you can always place it on the wanted ads. You may find one that way just because someone totaled one but kept it for parts.Hope this helps, Mike

maybe a little late but if you have enough of the boot on the bottom left, you could go get some universal covers for it. I took my stock rubber boots, the part ya see, cut all but the bottom couple ribs. Those bottom couple ribs allow you to fit the elastic part of the univeral boot on them and have a clost to factory looking install.

Wish I woulda seen this thread earlier. Oh yeah, the boots only cost me about 15$ might have been 10$ its been a while.
