melted fuel injector harness

Here's one for you. Has anyone ever seen the EFI harness burnt onto the ajoining injector connector? My Nissan 200sx had this happen to it last week, and for the life of me, cannot determine how it happened.

My theory is that the injector short circuited and the heat generated just melted the moldex connectors together and caught fire. That would explain the black discoloration.

Anyone seen or heard of this before? Thanks.

somewhat similar thing happend to me with my starter, but insead of melting the shrouding it melted the METAL case. Obviously there was a lot more curret going to the starter, but it's still the same thing. It sucks, sorry man.

Had something similar happened to my dad's truck -- FORD DIESEL F-350.

Really, I am not too sure what exactly happened, but I know he had the entire harness and injectors replaced.

I think I remember the mechanic saying something like it was normal for a truck with 160,000 miles.

Yeah, that does sound pretty normal for a Ford

LOL........ Nah, it's turned out to be great, actually.

At 192,000 NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!! (Knock on wood).......

Diesels normally last much longer than any other gas runed vehicle.

I know FORD will most certainly be my next purchase. Sorry TOYOTA. The TURBO CHARGED 7.3L DIESEL is too much for the 3L's TOYOTA's.

I know the aftermarket sells injector harness connectors for the nissan and they sell quite a few. I always thought it was because they got brittle w/age. BTW you can also get them for toyotas, I had a couple break when I pulled my injectors for cleaning.
