Chassis Lubrication question

Okay I committed a sin and had my oil changed at Wal-Mart(Nearest dealership is over an hour away & I'm not ready to do it myself yet). I get the report and it indicated that no lube was done because there were no fittings (i.e. they were sealed). Is this right? Not according to my owner's manual and Repair manual.

What should they lube and should this be included in the oil/lube/filter/fluid refill that they offer? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

BTW I drive a 1988 4Runner SR5 3.0 Automatic Transmission

I serviced our cashier's 1st gen truck and they were all sealed. You can only grease the drive shaft, the same is on my 3rd Gen. Yes they should lube the drive shaft since it's included in the LOF routine, I should know. I do it ever stinking day.

Ball joints can be lubed, they may or may not have a grease vert already. I was able to screw verts into mine by removing the plug and buying some 6mm verts. Don't overlube ball joints though, just a little squirt will do.

thanks. i have a tendency to overdo it on the grease (made quite a gummy mess working on the driveshaft)

Yeah if you over-lube ball joints you can blow out the rubber boots.

Well, I was having my exhaust looked at yesterday and they had my 4Runner up on a lift. I couldn't resist getting under there and checking everything out. Guess what??? I started noticing grease zert's!!!

8 of 'em to be exact!! They guy got his grease gun and lubed her up for me. So I guess I've learned my lesson from walmart, since they told me the it was SEALED!

Guess I'll find out how their customer service is!
