brake job

I was looking for some advice. I have a 2000 Tacoma Pre-runner 2WD and need to replace the front brake pads. I called toyota and they want 59 bucks for the set, autozone has them for $23 bucks. Its there a differance? and are the OEM ones better? Any suggestions??

Not all pads are the same. When it comes time to do my brakes, I am going with the performance friction pads found at Auto Zone.

Who makes the pads you are asking about from Autozone? What kind of warranty?

Gadget's site has some good info about brake upgrades, etc.

Contact TOR (Todd) here on the boards and see what he can get the OEM ones shipped to you for.

I would lean towards OEM over saving a few bucks.

Dont forget to turn the rotors.

I moved this post into the maintenance area with your other post, and I'll have one of the "maintenance" moderators merge this with your original brake question.
