Swap or Rebuild
My 95 4runner blew a headgasket a couple weeks ago and the tranny is also toast. It had issues since I bought it.. wouldn't shift into overdrive.
I've been looking for a 5VZFE, 2JZGE, or a 1UZFE. There aren't any jdm distributors in my area so I have to ship it. Wondering whats going to be the cheapest and easiest/fastest route. I already have a mechanic lined up willing to do it for $2k. Also, read its better to get the engine and tranny from the same vehice... is that a must?
