Sounds like you have a tranny rebuild in your future.
Do you find that you can almost "manually" change the gears by easing off on the accelerator and punching back down?

Hold Up...on the tranny rebuild!
I thought I needed a Tranny rebuild for my a340h that has 293,??? on it. it would not shift into second and it would not go into overdrive. Here is what I did:
1. did a search on this forum concerning the a 340h transmission
2. learned that often the electric solenoids go bad after a long while
3. learned where to order the solenoids
4. learned that the installation of the solenoids is relatively easy (If I can do it anybody can.)
5. installed the solenoids in 3hours (It would have taken less time if I was mechanically inclined.)
6. celebrated the $1720.00 I saved by posting what I had done on the forum here
Hold up with getting a rebuild until you are certain you need one. One person on here, I forget who, had their transmission rebuilt and when they got their rig back it did the same thing as before the rebuild. They learned the shop didn't install new solenoids and had to get the shop to order them and put them in at no charge.
Peace.

Yup that was me....definitely look for a code 61 and or 61 i believe before doing the rebuild...That is the code I believe for a bad shift solenoid 1 or 2 or both if its blinking both. I'm glad I had the tranny remanufactured but I could have gotten away for awhile longer with just the solenoids...As I remember they are pretty inexpensive relatively from the dealer...like $180 a piece or some outrageous amount...I got mine free because of these guys and www.transtec.com having the paperwork proving they should be changed with every rebuild.
Good luck!
Good luck!
