I'm putting a 3RZ out of a 98 taco into my 90 Toyota 4runner that had a 3.0 and 5 speed. I was looking into the off road solutions 3RZ swap harness and I want to know if anybody has used their harness? What you think?
I want to keep as much plug and play as possible althought I know it will require some splicing but how easy/hard is their harness to put in? I have everything else for the swap figured out just the wiring portion left

Why didn't you go with a 3.4?
I'm sure you can make your own harness, just need the wiring diagrams for both vehicles.

 

Just looked on their web site. That's a lot of money. Does the engine you have now have the stock 3rz harness still on it?

 

3rz is gonna require more work than the 3.4.

I know the 3.4 is easier but around here a good used runner is $1000-$1500 and I worked a deal with my buddy for this 3RZ and all the trimmins I want/need for $200 and I know it runs.
I know it will require more work but that doesn't bother me. And running a W56 with duals is better than the R150 with a chain drive EWW..
Anyway I loved my 22RE I had in another rig. Torquey little thing and I'm not after being able to burnout with 54s I just want something with reliability and good mileage and easy to work on.
I understand its not a power house but if my stock 22RE was great for what I do then the added power of the 3RZ should be slightly better which is just a plus for me. So just to shave down some time I wanted to run the ORS harness since it seems super simple and quicker just wanted input from people that have ran it.

 

When I done my 3.4 swap I was thinking about buying a harness from a company but what got me is you still have to do wiring to make it work. If you have both wiring diagrams, take about a week and make your own, unless you have money to burn
