hey guys I have an 88 pickup with a 22R stock in it and I was wondering what would be the best thing to do work with this engine maybe swap it out... If you think i should keep it what do you think I should add to it to get better performance... If you think I should swap it What would be the best choice???? I would Really appreciate someones help with this..... Thank!!!

 

what is wrong with the 22re? how is the truck used, DD, Desert Racing, Rock Crawling, mudding? we need more info to give good advice.

 

i Just use the truck as my get around car... no mud racing nothing extreme like that... But I do race some cars on the street here and there... I just want a car I can really be proud to own and get the best performance out of it...

 

if it is just for daily driving I would just build up the 22re and do some nice custom work in the engine compartment. You can build it to build some good power, but if that isn't enough then pick a motor that you like and go to work. I like 5.0HO's the are strong and fit great. Other here like chevy or going with the newer toyota 3.4 just know that any swap will take some work but then you can say you did it and be proud of it. Good luck.
