Engine + Tranny swap

Engine + Tranny swap
Kk, so my head gasket blew on my 884runner, auto at 250k and now am looking into replacing it. If possible I would like to swap to a manual tranny now or eventually so i was wondering if i should swap the tranny now with it oor wait? Also i was thinking of putting in another 3vze but might think about a 3.4 litre if it is not to much work and somewhat cost effective. I have tried the search function and have been looking through but not much on the specific topic.
Thanks, DStewart

Another reason you haven't found anything pertaining to your particular problem is because you have (1) problem and are creating multiple problems.
Blown head gasket (usual questions are :what kit, omg what do I do, how do I do it: with our usual answers :engnbldr, lce, ebay, rebuild it or buy another engine, read the FSM: yes machine the head and make sure the block is square, there's a reason it blew. Did it overheat? Prepare to rebuild bottom end also.)
Automatic -> Manual because of BHG. Is this your main vehicle? Do you have time to let it sit and get dusty/rusty while you find parts? I'd fix the BHG and later on do the transmission. Because my vehicle is a daily driver.
22re -> 5vz-fe swap --- because you can? Read up on that link above and let me know how long it took him to swap it. Also how much.
You're not asking for advice on what to do, you're asking us to make up your mind for you. Check your wallet, your bank account and with your significant other.
Make sure your couch is comfortable if she says no.
Good luck and god speed.
