carbureted 4.3 swap fuel pump problem

Hi guys! Ive done the carbureted 4.3 swap on my 93 but am experiencing some issues with the new frame mount fuel pump. the new pump is pulling thru the original in-tank pump and after about 45 minutes of running the pump stops sending fuel. I have tried several things now...exchanging pump (was still under warranty)...have set up a line to a jerry can behind the pump to by-pass the in-tank pump...check if its getting power when pumps stops working but i can't figure this out.
Has anyone run into this?

Why not run the original in-tank pump regulated down to carb pressure? Are you sure you're not vapor locked?

i just changed from push pump mounted on frame near the tank to a vein pump mounted on the fire wall and seems to have solved the issue! :-)
