I just mooched an 88 4runner with a 22 but head was removed yrs ago and engine sat open and is not lookin so good, long story short I also have the head and looks redone and gasket set but blocks rusted and possible seized. I have another 22 in a 84 (solid axle) pickup that i could install. Are the trannys same on both style frontends? Would I be able to put in the carbed 84 into the injected 88runner and keep the 84 carb set up and toss all the smog n stuff? I mean will the electrical setup be ok without all the sensors n that are on the injected setup. This is our newest bush recon project for huntin and fishin this summer. I could do the solid axle swap too as the 84 truck also has good front set up. Frames good in the runner but rotted outta the pickup. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
