22r-ec to 22r

I just picked up an 86 4runner from a guy who knows nothing about its history. Here is what I have found so far.

The tag on the fire wall says 22r-EC but it has a 22r in it. The wiring is a mess and I have been trying to clean it up to find out what I need. Nearly every sensor has been cut and I have a mess of wires that I am trying to re run. Here are the wires I have that are cut followed by some pictures. I would like to know what wires I need and what wires I can just tape off. These are all coming from the chassis wire harness.

-Black wire yellow stripe
-Yellow wire
-Green wire white stripe
-Brown wire black stripe
-Yellow wire green stripe
-Green wire red stripe
-Green wire

-Plug with blue wire black stripe and white wire black stripe
-Plug with brown wire, red wire and white wire

Your bottom picture is the one I beleive that goes over to the coil. If it is cut up that bad, I would try and find a new injector harness from the yard. It will need to be an 86. That would get all of those cut wires corrected. It disconnects from the computer easily and you will need to remove the Plenum to get the rest of the connectors off.

I have seen where someone trys to make a 22r out a 22re and it is usually a big mess and that is what it looks like they did on yours. I think if you swap out a new injector harness, alot of your issues will go away.

It's a 22r and is carbed. The chassis is an 85 and the body is an 86. This thing was Frankensteined together. The bottom pic is the plug for the alternator. It has a gm alternator in it currently but is wired incorrectly so the voltage regulator drains the battery. I am replacing it with a stock unit and running dual batteries for my fogs and winch.

Red face

Try and track down the Toyota Electrical Wiring diagrams for the years of your vehicle.

make good notes of what you do in case you keep this vehicle so 5 years from now .

Your not looking at this again with no clue what does what.
