? on wheeling on sand(beach)??

OK! I'm going to Pismo Beach CA this weekend for the Cruiser Surf n Turf taking the FJC., but I've never wheeled in the sand before! I know to air down but how low? And what gear ? 4low or 4hi? Any tips would be great!!

I would start out at around 15psi and see how it feels and then lower from there. 10 is more realistic but 15 will give you a good place to start. You'll be fine in 4hi starting out. In my 4runner I go back and forth between 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo the whole time out there, but I can do all that on the fly. I know in my wifes tacoma, I can only go between 2hi and 4hi on the fly.

A good trick for speed, start out in 4hi and once you are moving pretty good and on top of the sand, switch it to 2hi and you can really get some speed.

See you out there!

I just wheeled all over Glamis last weekend and it surprised the heck out of me how well the truck did. Had 10psi in the tires and used 4 lo & 4 hi.

Don't be scared of single digit pressures if you need to!

Big key is when you lose momentum, EASY on the throttle. The absolute worst thing you can do is start spinning the tires - you will dig in EASY and FAST.

1. Have a good compressor so that you can air back up with.
2. Make sure you have a real tow strap and tow points to hook the strap up to.
3. Take a shovel and cut some strips of plywood 4'x18" just in case
