trail gear pitman arm sucks

hey guys i have a trail gear sas. the pitman arm went on fine after a few years though it needed tightened again. now its to the top of the spline with a spacer under the nut and it seems the hole just keeps getting streched out as its loose again. any ideas? better arm on the market somewhere.

It seems it should be hard enough metal not to stretch, splines look fine inside.
Im taking a trip this weekend and want to get it fixed, is there a replacement available from another type of truck i can use without buying online, like a lc or something?

That's weird, usually they're so tight you can't get the damn things off.
Any reason an oem pitman won't work? Do you need a dropped one or something?

Hard to screw up a pitman arm. If the splines are not fubar'd then it's not the pitman arm.

You got the right ifs steering box?

My tg pitman arm has the splines cut funny. You cannot center it on the steering box. The little lines will always be misaligned to one direction or the other. And the taper wasn't cut deep enough to get the rod end through far enough to get the cotter pin through it. Ruined one trying. Ended up reaming it out with a rolled up piece of sand paper. Guess how long that took
Forgot oem has a rod end in it.

Ps. Not really helpful, but certainly shows that tg is more than capable of screwing up a pitman arm.

And did you call them and ask for a replacement since it was defective?

Yea, but since i bought it all new, but unused from a member on here without a receipt they were unable to replace parts, but they would have if i could have got the receipt. Even though i wasn't the original purchaser.

I had the same problem. I think the splines were cut wrong. At first i thought my steerning box was bad ($400 reman or $1500 from dealer) thank god is was the arm! Trail gear kinda sucks but the prices are cheap and the customer support is good.
