Solid Axle Rebuild

Hey guys i was wondering if somebody with more experience on the subject at hand could confirm on the parts needed to complete a rebuild on a solid axle. I have the housing and the pumpkin but everything else i trashed because it was so rusted out.

1. Knuckles
2. Steering Arms
3. Birfields
4. Spindles
5. Rotors
6. Locking Hubs
7. Third Member (Already Have)
8. Axle Housing (Already Have)

If im missing something could somebody please let me know, I would like to have a mindset of every part before i start ordering so i can cut down on shipping by ordering all at one time.

Thanks in advance

Bearings, backing plates, inner outer axle seals...

Might as well convert to high steer, V6 calipers and FJ vented rotors now.

Sounds like you would be better off finding another complete front end. Piecing all that together is gonna be pricey..heck just a set of SFA hubs sell for more than a complete front end if you can find them

SFA rebuild thread with pic- might refresh your memory

I doubt your axle was THAT rusty, I live in Hawaii...surrounded by salt water, and the axle that I picked up was left in the guys yard for awhile...in the rain, and my parts were still good. Anyway, the TG kit has pretty much everything you need to do a full rebuild. Bearings, seals, High steer, rotars, etc. I think the only thing I bought was a marlin inner seal, wheel studs and a breather. But as dropzone said, you already junked most of the parts, so sourcing new parts will be pricey depending on your budget.

Appreciate the replies guys, I do I have an option to buy a complete rolling axle for 450, but since i already had one, was going to see what i could do with it since upgrades were on the mind also. I guess buying a different one for that cheap would be a better route then just do the upgrades on it. Also thanks for that brake idea dropzone.

Expect to pay around 200 just for service parts (i.e. gaskets, bearings, shims, washers, cone washers, bolts, etc). Like Kalama said, Trail Gear has all the parts you need to start putting your axle back together. Calipers, FJ rotors, and steering box can also be found on Trail Gears website. If you got the money nows the time to buy the nice new stuff...if not then get yourself another axle with all the trimmings
