SAS options
Alright y'all. My 4runner has been down for awhile cause I have a dead cylinder in engine but while it has been down I have been searching the internet and I am thinking about putting leafs or coilovers on it. I've heard good things about both options but I wanted some more opinion's on it.

How deep is your wallet?
Leafs
-proven conversion
-cheaper
-tons of info
-kits available
Coils-
-great offroad capability
-expensive
-easy to fubar
-as a daily driver it may not be conducive to great road manners, hard to get the valving correct
who is doing the work?

I know having an SA truck is cool but why do you feel the need for one if this is your DD? If you only wheel occasionally i think your money would be better spent elsewhere on the truck. Learn to drive to the capabilities of your 4Runner after you get it running. There are guys that wheeled for years on IFS trucks before they spent the coin on doing an SAC or SAS.

Not meaning to rape your thread YotaRunner001 but I guess we're in the same boat ...
hey Dropzone, how BAD does road handling get? I live on a small island where we have no highways so the distances are relatively short; going to work in traffic is 20-25 mins, clear roads 12 mins, and with clear roads 20-30 mins to anywhere else on the island!) Legal top speed here is 80km/h (50m/h) although we realistically hit a 100km/h or 120km/h for like 3 or 4 seconds!
The only offroad we can go here is crawling; we have no desert like you guys out there and no long stretches either! My Yota is also my DD.
All I am explaining takes me to only one diretction: SAS. My question is, considering I already have the axle and I have good fab skills, is it still worth keeping stock IFS and lock the front diff or doing the SAS? (I would go for coilovers, thus increasing approach and departure angles) And would it still be worth doing a SAS if I had to go on a one off cross Europe trip in my 4Runner, hitting the odd trail while out there?
Cheers
