SAS in Las Vegas

SAS in Las Vegas
Hi all,
I'm tossing around a SAS but am on an oasis here in LV. Does anyone know of a shop near to me (within 250 miles) that can do the SAS for me? I have ZERO welding skills, basically never have done it, and I don't feel this is the project I should learn on.
I've just started researching this, I have a bracket lift now that I'm sure you all LOVE to death.
And, is this the best place to start, or should I do transfer cases and 'break' the IFS first? I'm stuck. The truck has sentimental value so, I can't sell and get one that has been done already, if even cheaper. I see the kit is about $1300, the axle should be about $350 and labor $1000??? What am I missing??
Thanks for the input. (you may see other threds I have on this, where to start??)

They say when you are jumping into a project like a SAS, you should estimate how much it will cost and then double it.
BTW, you don't have these on your list:
- front drive shaft
- Axle rebuild

One other thing... how hard core is the wheeling that you do? Many people have shown that the IFS can really take a beating and keep on going. Your hard earned $$$ might be better spent on something else... gears, lockers, Crawler/driveshafts

Thanks for the information! Your point above is what made me decide to hold off. It really is a good chunk of change for something I may or may not need. SO, I hit up Budbuilt and Marlin for protection that's on the way. I have not decided on the front bump yet, but it will have a winch. Then, give it a shot and see where we are. I may do mild rock climbing, but this isn't the one I will beat. I may toss in a selectable front locker if I feel it's going well. Later in life I will do the SAS. I have the desert to think about too, I may want to keep the IFS. Anyway, thank you for helping me.

Well one thing you can think about trying other than finding someone else locally that has a welder is you could call up some local welding places or rental places and rent a welder.
I am ventureing into this as well. I already have the SFA and am currently rebuilding it so it is ready before i do the swap.
Try joining some other forums where there is more people in your area.

This is the route I'm taking for now. I'm getting some protection (bumpers/sliders) and a winch for now. I would rather either learn to weld first or bring my heap to a shop in Los Angeles. It's not that far. So for now, wheel it until it breaks. Thanks for the advice all!
