revolver shackle question?

If I posted in the wrong area, im sorry. I was wondering if anyone uses them in the rear and also if a set that is made for a jeep yj would fit? I ask because I have a chance to pick a set up for$40, thats if they are worth getting and if they will work. Any info would be great, good or bad. Thanks.

What are the measurments for the yj shackle? As long as they are for a 2.5 spring" they should fit.

They are kind of old technology at this point. The double shackle system tends to unload at the least desired times such as side hilling or going down hill.

^X2, they are not a real sought after item nowadays due to the unloading. The Johnny Joint shackle mounts are a much better design and can be had for $100 from Allpro.

revolver shackles

Having owned an off-road shop and having 20 years experience in the off-road industry, I would not go with revolver shackles if you're planning on doing any serious 4x4ing. If you're just trying to get the lift that they'll give you and stay on the road, that's fine. They're too old of technology, and they'll unload on you coming down a steep grade if you're off-road.

Don't do it. Unnecessary and not safe.
