K i just now bought the trail gear ifs eliminator kit and now i have one more ? before i start doing my conversion on my runner.
i bought a 1976 landcrusier axle for my swap but im not sure if the 76 landcrusier axle is any different from the regular 79-85 axles. Because my kit comes wid the knuckle services kit and im wondering if it'll fit perfect. and also about the steering pitman arm from landcrusiers is located different then the 79-85. Help me please b4 i start working on my car. thanks

 

I don't know the LC stuff very well... but I think you are going to find that not much of a standard SAS kit will be compatible.

 

The knuckle kit, and wheel bearings are the same. My son and I trade spare parts all the time.

The steering arms may not be compatible. 76-79 used a smaller bolt pattern. The 79+ cruiser arms had the same pattern as the mini truck. I think the aisin hubs are interchangable (early cruisers has a slightly different length birfield)

The axle itself is different than the mini. It uses the landcruiser gears (bigger than a mini)

We are doing a lift on my son's 85 with a TG kit if you want me to make any measurements between my cruiser and his mini.

 

Just remembered, the Landcruiser is spring under, the mini is spring over

 

Diff is different (larger).

Also Not sure how the brakes work for that.

Should work though, just check the widths, as the LC axle may be narrower or wider than you want for the rear, so you'd need to space accordingly with wheel spacers.

 

Well thanks alot YOTA! now i shouldn't worried about the knuckle service kit and bearing now. but about the steering pitman arm i just hope that it'll fit. and yeah the perch is already convert to the top of the axle already when i bought it. and the hubs is WARN brand so it should be good.

 

as for the brake lines im not sure too because on the axle two sides come and connect in the center of the axle to make it one so im not sure on that too.

 

With the brakes I was referring to your IFS eliminator kit, which I know comes with rotors and the like, but they are set up to go on a mini truck hub, not a LC hub. They may be the same, but I'm not sure how the LC rotor is in comparison, so you might end up having to reuse the old brake stuff.

 

well a friend of me told me that the rotors from trailgear is LC rotors so it should fit , if its doesn't then i'll just reuse the old ones.

 

I did a fornt disc brake conversion a few years back on a 71 fj40.....

I used all mini truck parts

cant remember if I used the knuckles or not but I used:
birfs
backing plates
spindles
bearings
brakes
rotors
hubs
