Land cruiser Prado 150 sas conversion
Hi Guys.
thank you for having me in the forum.
I am new, and I don't have much technical/mechanical experience.
I have a Land cruiser 150 2019 with KDSs system, and I leave in UK.
I am been collecting parts for my Cruiser in the last year and it s going slowly. Costs issues. But like a little ant I keep working on it.
I use my land cruiser as daily driver, and I am modifying the car for overlanding mostly. I try to make it short...
I don't have much mechanical experience and I do prefer over engeneering the car to make sure it can handle whatever I throw at it. So I would prefer to perform a sas swap as it is more robust and I don't want end up to repair a CV in the middle of nowhere. I have been reading a lot on line but I didn't find much about sas conversion on LC 150. Is it possible? Costs? Which axle should fit in a 150? The rear has already a solid axle, should this be upgraded to? Please any information, knowledge, advices, details you would like to share I would be more then happy to learn.
Thank you for your time,
G.

What sort of axles are available in the UK for this swap? Youll want something that uses the same wheel bolt pattern and about the same width. Possibly an landcruiser FJ80 axle?
Not too common here in the US, but like any sas, cut it all out ad rebuild. What kind of springs did you have in mine? Leafs or coils?
put a set of RCV axles in it and have no more CV worries!
Good luck!

Gds-
That is a left side driveshaft output....you could do what I did to my 01 Tacoma and use a 1985 FJ60 front beam axle and I flipped it for left side use. A small plasma cutter, MIG welder, shop saw, and hand grinder come to mind. The 85 FJ60 has a low pinion 9.5" 3rd.....very stout. RCV axles puts it in the dependable category.
