Full Width Hanger

Full Width Hanger
What the heck is a full width hanger for, a hanger that puts the spring mounts out further on the sides.. Why? I did a search, found nothing really, cept "dana 60" swaps, lol. Nothing mentioning full width hangers. Also, dropped hanger, what for, more lift, or does it help the suspension work better some how with the hanger dropped?
Sky has the stuff i'm talking about... that's what makes me wonder... i just saw it.

"Now Available is our 2 inch drop front hanger. We can provide these in either a standard width or full width conversion."
Can anyone shed some light on this for me plz?

I'm just taking a guess...But I'm assuming standard width would be with the stock toyota axles which are a lot shorter than the fullwidth axles. Which ya know...fit the "full width conversion hanger" part.
Other than that I have no idea lol.

A full width hanger is exactly that. It is for doing a solid axle swap with a full width axle.
You can use a regular hanger to hang a full width axle, but you have to cut and reweld the perches.
With a full width hanger, it is wider, so that you can use the stock perches on the axle.

Can you imagine that working in the slightest?
You use an offset shackle. As I'm sure you saw in their full width kit.

durh.. i feel dumb as heck.
Why would you want the mount lower though? more lift?

More lift, yes. But also more clearance for the steering pitman arm:

and also helps correct the caster angle change dues to a longer than stock spring shackle. So if you run say a 2" longer than stock shackle and a 2" spring hanger drop, there is no caster angle change on the front axle.
