ABS issues with SAS

I have a 97 4runner and have heard of issues with the ABS when SASing as there is no speed signal to the computer? Is this an issue with my year or only the newer models? I assumed mine got the speed signal from the speedo sensor on the tailshaft not the abs. Also is anyone retaining the abs somehow after SAS?

The ABS from 96 and newer has the speed sensor signal coming from each wheel. You do SAS....no more signal from the front wheels....Computer thinks there's something wrong.
I converted my rear diff to E-locker housing and lost the speed sensor signal so I have the light on all the time....not a big deal to me.

ABS on lifted trucks isn't ideal. Especially in off-road hilly conditions. I'd say remove the ABS after doing a SAS.

Your speedo should still work. You'll just have an ABS light.
