90 reg cab, ideas for the moment
i've decided to go to the sas finally. currently running 63" chevs and a pro comp stage 2 ifs lift on 35's. spar ton in the front with5.29 and a detroit in the back with chromoly axleshafts.
i picked up an axle and am rebuilding it. might as well enjoy what i have for now as i can get 2' of flex.
the axle will be getting all the good stuff. my idea at this point is a trail gear 3 link set up with the 14" shocks.
questions
-i can't find any useful info on cutting and rolling the axle. will this be low enough that its not worth the effort?
-roughly how high will it sit afterwards (will i be much more then the chevs or maybe get away with just a longer shackle)
-i've read i need a hydro steer in some articles and others saying the high steer will be fine. its not a daily driver but i do drive it to the trails whenever i can. suggestions feed back would be great.
i am hoping to be ready for my doubler when i do the swap so i only need to change the front d shaft once. right now is parts gathering. the axle will be first so i have time to ponder the 3 link vs leafs

With a 3 link and a Toyota axle on a unmodified frame with the stock drive-train location, will be quite high as you have to make room for the links, especially the top link and the track bar. The 3 link and 4 link suspensions require a lot of detail and if you've never done a swap before or any major suspension work, IMO I wouldn't do it.
From what I've read, hydro steer is not something you run on a road vehicle, but, what you can do is run hydro assist which is plumbed into the steering box, and uses a ram to help push and pull the steering. Usually this kind of upgrade comes with large tires like 35" or bigger. If you're running anything smaller it's not that difficult to use the aftermarket high steer setup.

I will only be doing the cutting of the ifs. I have a friend who owns a frame and suspension shop that will be doing all of the install. he did my last sas and has done several link set ups. that part I'm not worried about.
i have the axle stripped to the housing right now, thats what i was thinking with doing it now. if the drive line is gonna be that high i will do that.
any suggestions on angles would be great, don't wanna go to high and cause other problems
