2000 Tacoma SAS

Does anyone know a good place to get everything i need. Also, I think that I'm getting an axle from an 85 toyota pickup. would the steering components from the 85 work in my truck? and can anyone give my a full list of everything i need, I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Allpro sells everything you need to do your sas. If you want to run a 85 axle you need to do something with transfer case. The taco's front drive shaft is on the drivers side and the 85 axle is on the pass side. You could use a Dana 44 or a diamond axle.

Marlin sells the adapter to change your taco trans to a pass side drop gear drive case.

Or just get the Dana44 or Diamond axle.

Also you will have to remove your Rack and pinion steering, and install crossover steering.

Might want to do some thorough research before tackling this one, as with tacos there is a lot more that needs to be done.

Good person to talk to on here is WATRD (moderator) He was one of the first on the board to do the swap, and he used a Dana44 IIRC.

I suggest you start researching this one on your own, cowboy

I do not recomend using the 85.

Your rear axle is 60" wide WMS to WMS

An 85 front axle is 55.5" WMS to WMS

You'll need BIG wheel spacers to get this thing to drive right on the road. Look at D44s. You can get them used for the same price as a Toy front, and you don't have to mess with the xcase.
