so heres what im wondering, i have a 1991 pickup bone stock, was looking into a lift and some tires, but a lift is 1300$ at ur neighborhood lesshwab. sure i could find it cheaper if i looked anywhere else. but im wondering if imma spend that much on a lift should i just get a SAS? i prolly dont need it right now, but as i progress im not gonna wanna regret spending 1300$ and wanting to do an SAS. thanks for helping me im new.

Well, you can lift your truck for a lot less than 1300.
If i were you, i'd do some research into what a swap costs. Do you have a welder or know someone with one who can put your truck up for a week to a month?
If you do everything by hand, and source your own, you MAY get away with under 1k for the front. If you go with a kit, you are looking at 2k for both ends, plus tires. If you regear, add another 600-1000. keep on adding if you put in lockers.
My advice is, if you got the cash, then do it. Lord knows plenty of people here have swaps that are simply done because they can, and are just as weak as IFS. They did it for looks, nothing wrong with that. If you don't have the money, i'd look at cheaper lift options. You can lift these trucks for 400 bucks and put 33's under it.

what are your plans with this truck? do you wheel alot or is the lift you want for looks? i would figure that out first then from there if sas is what you want then start building all you can yourself. theres so much info on this stuff online like lifts, axle builds, gears, lockers, engines, the list goes on and on. if you want to go sas I think learning how to do as much of the lift you can yourself. dont pay others to do it for you cause you dont gain knowledge that way. take your time and research all options. good luck
