Who wants to buy a CO4RJ video tape?
Many folks have expressed interest in getting a copy of the video I took at CO4RJ 2003. (see this thread for sneak-preview movie)
I just spoke with a tape duplication outfit, and I should be able to make video tapes available for $12 a piece, including postage. (Maybe even $10. I still need to price postage and the cost of a digital mater tape I'll need to buy.)
My plan is to make a digital master off of my Hi8 tape, and then I'll have that duplicated onto VHS tapes, so the visual quality should be pretty good.
What I have on tape is from the Holy Cross, Wheeler Lake, and Chinaman's runs. I think it's close to 2 hours in length. I don't plan to edit it (though I'll have to if it's over 2 hours).
The highlights will be:

Most of our crew traversing French Creek on Holy Cross
Most of our crew going through the crack on Wheeler Lake (a.k.a. Ziad's crack)
Steve Schaefer getting beached on what I call "Yoder Rock" on Chinaman's
Seeing Steve Hunt make a brave attempt at the left line on Whale Rock and breaking his axle doing so
Hearing a tree branch break through Martin's back window
Seeing us all struggle through the new tough obstacle on Chinaman's
Hearing Steve Schaefer mumble his now famous words of defeat: "At his point, you know, just get the hell out of this stupid thing. This is now a big drag." (Will include never-before-seen bonus footage of minutes and minutes of rock stacking for Steve.)
Seeing Mike Caskey's (Offroad Solutions) 4Runner buggy with 42" tires gracefully crawl over everything attempted
And much, much more!!!!!
Guaranteed fun for the entire family! Well, actually, this will be unsensored, so maybe not the ENTIRE family...
If you think you would be interested in purchasing such a thing, please post your interest here. (Note, this offer will not be available on TV.) Actually, send me an e-mail at MikeAndDonna_public@WebAccess.net to make an order. I'll collect names for a couple weeks and then get the tapes made.

Hmm...sounds enticing. Maybe we can get like a sample video? so we can see the quality and get a glimpse on what's in it?

But this is really a home video that I had no intention of mass dupllicating, so don' t expect too much. I made no attempt to film every vehicle, and there's some of the typical technical difficulties, like sometimes jittery camera and such.
I watched it with Marmot and Yoder the other night at my house, and it's not too bad really. One thing I think is good about it is that I tried to keep the camera rolling, so you kind of get the feel of being there as a participant on the run. And the camera is generally pretty still. For those who didn't get to attend, it would give you a little flavor for what the event was like.

THIS IS COOL!
I am in the process of preparing a three minute Windows Media demo movie of the video (various clips to music). It's looking pretty cool for an ameteur thing. Hopefully I'll have it posted by tomorrow sometime. (I'll start a new thread to announce it's availability.) (By the way, Pinnacle 8 video software is REALLY buggy, bordering on unusable.)
Looking at the tape, I fear it's over 2 hours, so I may have to do some editing. I've got plans to go over to Yoder's on Monday to work on it.
I have yet to figure out how to handle payments, but I'll let everyone know when I have that figured out (probably via e-mail).
