CO4RJ music video !!! VERY cool.

YOU WILL WANT TO SEE THIS! (I'm kind of stoked because this came out so good!)I put together a WindowsMedia music video with some of the highlights from this year's Jamboree. I'm going to be selling tapes of the raw footage (at cost, ~$12 w/ shipping, see thread), but Toyo_Runner96 asked for a sneek peek of what it might contain, so here it is:
http://www.reapur.com/car/co4rj-2003/CO4RJ-2003.wmv
It's 5.9 megs, so you may want to right click on it and save it first. For those on dialup (like me), it's worth waiting for (IMHO).
Please note, the video I'm selling won't have music or fancy edits.
E N J O Y !

That is a cool video. Looks like you guys had a fun trip. I wish we had woods like that here is So Cal. My wife and I are planning to come out to CO to see her family next year. I will try to plan it around your next CO4RJ. Her family lives in Leadville.

Very good vid indeed, it's going into my 4x4 vids folder to keep.
Saw Steve's crawlers kickin' the tires real slow, and the even the French Fry was in it at the end.
Perhaps offer up two versions of the vids on one tape.
One without music, and one with.
It's nice having the music in too.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but I tried to be a little clever:
You'll notice that there's one shot where the pickup lunges up the ledges. I then followed it up with a slow motion of the same. Well, a few scenes later, I have Steve Schaefer using his crawler gears and it's real slow. So instead of doing a slow motion shot as a follow up, I inserted a sped up version -- in this case, 4.5 times normal speed. And I think that's Steve's crawler ratio. So here, via the miracle of instant replay, we can all see what Steve's truck would have done without his Marlin!

HOLY CRAP, Mike! That was awesome! Looks like you're a regular video editing buff. Great job! Great footage.
I didn't have music when I viewed it so I'll have to watch it on another machine here in a little bit to get the full effect.
*Added 5-star rating* My first ever rating awarded!

By the way, Pinnacle Studio 8 video editing software is super easy to use, but totally buggy -- just horrible! This video could have been done in 4 hours if the software worked like it's suposed to. Instead, it took closer to 12! (Two evenings till 2AM.) The software just crashes all the time.
If anyone out there is thinking of buying it, I'd say, save your sanity and wait until they get the kinks worked out. (Just check the support boards on their web site.) I think I'm going to take mine back to Circuit City.

How about that French Creek run I did. That kicked ass.

I'm glad you mentioned that. It actually did dawn on me that it might appear that I only put stuff in where you were stuck. The real story is, while you DID climb up stuff like French Creek really, really well, it was so slow and graceful that it just didn't fit in in a fast-paced video. (Who's most fun to watch, the tortise or the hare?) The stuff of you that I put in was chosen because it had some drama and personallity to it. (I am an artist you know...) I also tried to put in some stuff that showed off just how slow your crawler can take you.
Don't feel bad -- for video drama purposes, that guy with the open diff pickup had us all licked.

(There's no pleasing film critics!)

I know that you have a life beyond making a copy of this, but I was wondering what the status of the copies was?
Do you intend to make a certain number of them, or only make one for each request?
Thanks,
Adrian

I have to decided how we're going to do this. I have 3 hours of footage, and I don't think I'd be able to edit it down an hour without removing a lot of footage some people would want to see. So I have 3 options:
1. Make it into 2 VHS tapes recordeded at SP speed (best quality)
2. Make it into 1 VHS tape recordeded at LP speed (medium quality)
3. Make it into 2 DVD's (best quality, easier to mail) I'm not possitive yet I could even make this affordable.
Is there anyone who wanted a tape who doesn't have a DVD player?

You can tell why I didn't included it in the CO4RJ music video -- this segment alone is almost as long as the entire music video!
The editing software I'm using has sound effects you can add to movies, so I coudln't resist adding a couple to enhance the entertainment value. (This is all in the sprit of fun and friendship.
)Let's all chant together: "STEVE'S CRAWLER SPANKS! STEVE'S CRAWLER SPANKS! STEVE'S CRAWLER SPANKS!"
