If you're coming from west of Exit 42:
  • Go East on I-90 until Exit 42
  • Get off at Exit 42
  • At the stop sign, turn right
  • Go appx 157.8 feet, and notice the large dirt area on your left
If you're coming from east of Exit 42:
  • Go Wast on I-90 until Exit 42
  • Get off at Exit 42
  • At the stop sign, turn left
  • Go appx 1/4 mile, across the bridge that crosses I-90, and notice the large dirt area on your left
Common directions:
  • Turn into the dirt area, this is the "air-down" point
  • Unless it's gone today, you'll notice a "house on wheels" parked in the dirt area.

Hey Mark,

Sounds like you had a great time with the kids! How big was that puddle at the end?

It looks like we'll have a pretty group going out tonight, you'll be sorely missed for sure. I'm thinking we'll have to do a weekend run within the next couple of weeks or so.

Ray, no worries about the ext. diff. breather, we won't be seeing any water (unless things go very, very, badly).

Not big enough to play in... Well, actually it's big enough to splash mud all over Ray's rig, but the problem will be trying to recover the lead truck from the other side of the puddle... It's a pretty big drop to the base of the mountain.

I think you actually take a right at the stop sign...or you just keep going and there is no stop.

I could be remembering it wrong, but I think the exit loops under the over-pass and then puts you heading south off the exit.

Either way, it's just on the south side of the Hwy at this exit.

Talking GUESSSSSSSSSSSSS WHAT!

Blue is done as of 1:30 BUT the doc says he readjusted the TBelt and the noise went away. So I know there is still a problem there. I am going down to see if Choped 4Runner still wants to go. If I have someone to go with me incase I uh you know then Im there. What town or city is this exit closest to? I gotta go get my paycheck and Blue from the emergency room so I will check for info on what city or town the exit is near before I head out.

Driving West on I-90 from central Washington, you will drop down on the western side of Snoqualmie pass. The closest town to exit 42 is North Bend, which is a couple of miles further down the road (Exit 32-35 I think). You won't see many other towns before exit 42.

My excuse.

Ok guys I know I said I would go if Blue was fixed & if I had someone to go with. Well I got Blue from the shop @ 4:30 & went to LineX to get my buddy to go. He was concerned with running his balding tires on the highway. So we ended up doing a seven hour thirty mile run over the back country of Wenatchee with two fine lookin hunnys. It was quite cool. Sorry for being a no show. Next time?

Toyota had me fooled, I just found out that i dont even have a rear locker, just a centerlock diff. thing that acts like it's having ceasures when it's engaged. Rearlocker standard on Sport pkg? BS!!! I was so bummed and my GF was bored as hell.......I was so disappointed that i didnt even wanna go up that hill being winched. My Runner doesnt even have any type of offroading capabilities. Dented brushguard, dented muffler tip and gashed fender flares and most of all, crushed ego was what I had from today's run. Thanks for being so patient and supportive guys. For now, I'm gonna try to save up for SC and sit in the corner in shame.........

Yikes.

You dont sound like you had a good day. Winched? No way. Was it the "hill climb" as they have talked about? I have heard you guys speak of this climb. Sounds like a monster. I did a hill climb up a fire trail that a dozer looks to have plowed out within recent months. Choped 4Runner (Antonio) went 1st & looked to be making it with his bald tires but made it way up top where he lost traction on a log. I started my way up after losing sight of him and then seeing a HUGE cloud of dust. I thought there may have been problems. BLUE to the rescue or so I thought. I got 3/4's the way up to his location and saw I needed to stop being guess who was coming back down. Oh yeah, I see him coming back down and I was like "oh my god where am I going to turn around. This was a dozer trail on a major climb. I slowly started backing into my turn. I seriously thought I was going to flip and roll some fifty yards down to my death. I got sideways and inched my way while turning down hill and started sliding on the loose pine needles while on the frikkin brakes. It was quite crazy but we made it down the hill and went on to more fun.

yea........well I dont think today was one of my favorite runs..Im still wondering why i have a stupida$$ centerlock? useless piece of crap. you should have seen how stupid i looked when i totally thought I had lockers, i was like ok, push the button and i might be able to make it up. WRONG tire kept on spinning, my runner didnt have a clue what it was doing, Rob looks at and goes "uh.....you're not locked" haha. Well im just gonna stick with the light stuff and never even think about climbing anything steep. My truck SUCKS!

Our Runners are set up nearly the same way. You have a push button center lock I dont. I have a lift & 35s you dont. Where we both should have no issue is airing down. did you air down or just go with whatever was in it. I started out from 35psi and found it was to high. i then had fun at 27psi but know 24 may have been perfect. just curious as to your psi. gotta go meet someone be back in a bit to check your reply. ben

i was at 15psi....... i modified my truck based on looks....the "no purpose serving" brushguards, still running on stock tires, just some money here and there to make it look ok. Just gonna drive it until i get sick of it. Prolly some AT tires when mine wears out, I dont even wanna think about getting lockers or lifts because I do like my warranty and my truck only has 38k miles.
