Wed. Aug. 20th Midweek Run
#22
Well I got off work @ 4:30 this morning and typed up a note to my 4Runners tech. I asked him to call me if he could fit me in on todays schedule or tomorrows. I filled him in on my plans to go to Seattle and am awaiting his call. I also put a message on my clubs board inviting my members. I think one of my 4Runner members is going if I am going. He has this sweet 1st gen that he chopped up and built into an offroading machine. He just signed up on YT the other day to (Choped4Runner). He is Antonio and works at the local LineX shop here in Wenatchee. Well I am still very excited about going if I get to go. Look at me im just going on and on. Damn Ray where are yuh man I need someone to chit chat with. Oh well I need to go to bed. Later you guys.

Jim,
When Jowie and I checked out the path to the right, I think it was a pretty big mess of stumps, logs, etc, but it couldn't hurt to take another look. We could catch another cool sunset up top, work our way back towards the bottom, then head up one of the other spurs.

My plan is to be at the Tinkham meet spot at 7:00 PM this Wednesday, head for the hill climb with the new guy, then possibly look into clearing that trail. If it is too much of a pain, I might catch the sunset from the summit, then look at some exploring on the way down.

Sounds like we'll have a pretty good sized group. Myself, Kevin, and Mark explored several spurs a couple weeks back, all them dead-ended pretty quickly. The road we explored was after taking the right off of Tinkham, passing the train tressle, and hanging another right, as opposed to continuing on straight ahead to the hill climb. The main road that we explored apparently climbs all the way to the top, although we turned back before then.
So, just to start a running list of who is going to show:
Mad Chemist (me)
WATRD + Friend
smr4runner
Wavy Gravy (Kevin)
JRUZ???
Big Bad Blue???
2001Millirunner

I dont know who is in charge of memberships but whoever it is can you answer me this question? I was curious to know if a local buddy of mine has signed up yet? His member name is Choped4Runner. Also I tried talking local member CJs Red Runner into going but he has to work his day job. You can add Choped4Runner to the maybe list on the 20th run.

Kevin has a list of all the 4ROC members.
Also, this isn't an "official" run by any particular club, just a bunch of guys going offroading. Wouldn't want anybody to think we were organized...

yea i was up but my retarded DSL kept being skippy so i got pissed and unhooked the whole thing. NE ways looks like we'll have a gay ol' time at the run. Im trying to get my GF to go but she's afraid she'd end up being bored around buncha guys talking about cars. I know david's GF went the other time and she looked pretty.....not interested.......hehe. Maybe i'll let her take over the wheel for a while to keep things interesting.

Probably won't be doing any water stuff, sorry Ray. You will, however, get to do a hill climb that will make your bottom tingle..
Make sure to have your running boards off.
For those of you who haven't done the Tinkham hill climb yet, here's a link to two awesome videos put together by Mike (smr4runner). One is of us (Rob specifically) coming down after dark, and one is of us climbing the hill.

...and this goes without saying, but I will say anyway.
Please do not bring alcohol on this run. We do not want any repeats of the run where I had to face down the drunk and tell him he was not welcome. Save it for after...

Tinkham is #42.
I was just up there today with my kids. I thought about doing the climb alone to get them to the summit, but I decided I was smarter than that.
So, we just had lunch at the base of the hill.... That was enough!
I got a couple of "OH WOW!"'s out of them as I showed them the view, and they got a kick out of seeing the elevation go up on the GPS as we climbed.

btw... David! You know how there's a fork in the road right after that big clearing (on the left as you're going up) where folks are sometimes doing target practice? And the last time that you, myself and Kevin went up, we went right, but didn't keep going? Well, just as a heads-up, that road doesn't go to the summit. It dead-ends in a mud puddle a mile or so past where we stopped and turned around.
From what I saw today, the only way to summit on that particular peak is to go left, and do the hill climb.
Have fun you guys!
